As some of you may know, local health chiefs have decided that our much beloved maternity and neonatal unit at the Royal Free Hospital should be closed. I am devastated.

Last year, more than 50 consultants and a group of specialist midwives raised significant concerns with this decision, “sidelining the welfare of women” and putting lives at risk. I am disappointed to see that this has not been listened to.

The Royal Free has a special place in the hearts of all those who have been born and given birth there. The work they do for the most vulnerable mothers, children and families in the community is something that should make us all incredibly proud.

If, like me, you object to this decision, sign your name below.
