I was delighted to be able to visit the new Maggie’s centre being built at the Royal Free Hospital. This is going to be an incredible place that anyone with cancer and their families can visit and get free practical and psychological support. Maggie’s already has an interim centre within The Royal Free Hospital, but the new purpose-built centre will officially open its doors this June.
When the centre opens, anyone with cancer or their families can walk straight in. You don’t need an appointment and you can immediately get support and help with anything to do with your cancer diagnosis. That might be benefits advice, joining a group for support or relaxation or stress relieving sessions. Robin is the centre head there and will welcome you along with her colleagues who are all cancer specialists and can really make sure you get the best possible support to go alongside your medical care. I look forward to sharing more news on this brilliant service for anyone with cancer and how you and your family can just walk right in.
