I was delighted that The Hampstead Antique Emporium has been granted Asset of Community Value (ACV) status by Camden Council after the campaign to save it which I supported. The Antiques Emporium in my constituency is very important to the local community in Hampstead, having been in the heart of the village for almost 60 years.

In the face of indefinite closure, I supported the campaign to save the Emporium and get it recognised with ACV status so it could continue as a market for the benefit of future generations. There is still much work to be done to ensure it can keep running, and I will continue to work with the brilliant local campaigners to keep the emporium open.

As the country faces a cost-of-living crisis, it is more important than ever that we support small and local businesses like those in the Emporium. During this stressful time for business owners in the constituency, I will continue to urge the Government to provide the vital support so many businesses need so that they can continue to enrich our communities and deliver for local people.
