Visits to local schools

Hampstead and Kilburn is home to some of London’s highest achieving schools and I am always delighted to visit the wonderful students and staff who make the various successes possible.

I recently celebrated the achievement of Macsen from Queen’s Park Community School, who triumphed over 19,000 students to win Jack Petchey’s Speak Out Challenge. I visited QPCS to present Macsen with his victory cheque, and to speak with students about the benefits of public speaking. Macsen’s winning speech can be viewed here.

I was also pleased to visit Access to Music in South Kilburn, where I met an extremely talented and creative group of students. It was great to learn about the partnership between Access to Music and the Institute for Contemporary Music Performance, and how this is leading to really positive career opportunities for their students.
