The results

Yesterday was polling day. I woke up at 6am (which was a bit of a shock to the system) but adrenaline kept me going till 3am!

The results were as follows:

Lib Dem: 1206 (51.4%)
Conservative: 557 (23.7%)
Labour: 405 (17.3%)
Green: 178 (7.6%)

Congratulations to Lib Dem candidate Nancy who won the seat.

Tulip and John Healey

I was lucky to have a huge number of people helping me out on the day including several councillors from Camden, John Healey, MP for Wentworth and Nicky Gavron Deputy Mayor of London. A big thank you to everyone for making such a tremendous effort throughout this campaign. Even though I didn’t win, I can positively say that I had an enormous amount of fun and learnt a lot, both about campaigning and about election management.

I would also like to thank all those residents in Fortune Green who voted for me and please do remember that I would still like to work for you and represent your views as best I can. As part of the West Hampstead Labour Action Team, I am happy to talk to you about your issues and take on any casework you may have. Please contact me here.

The main issues that I based my campaign on still stand – the Lib Dem/Conservative council could do more to listen to the residents of Camden. We need to improve consultation and we need to re-engage the community into local politics. We need more youth services in the area. We need to increase recycling facilities in Camden and highlight the threat to the environment generally. We need to sort out the traffic lights on Mill Lane and mend the broken pavements around Fortune Green.

Like always, I’m still here to work for you so please do get in touch.
