Post Offices

If you haven’t had a chance to pick up the Camden New Journal this week, my letter about Albany Street Post office is on page 14.

My letter has been edited slightly so here’s the original version:

Dear Editor

I wholeheartedly share in the frustrations about the new current ticket service being offered at Camden High Street post office, as expressed by your readers over the last few weeks.

I’m surprised the Council hasn’t taken this brewing issue more seriously – perhaps it should now. I’m also concerned that they seem to have dropped their interest in opening a post offce for the Regent’s Park Estate once the issue wasn’t as hotly debated in your letters pages.

The good news is for Regent’s Park estate residents who have had to put up with the closure of Albany Street Post Office over the last few months. The Post Office have told me that a service is very likely to open in the near future as negotiations have been continuing (albeit slowly) over the summer.

I’m just as annoyed as anyone else that the situation wasn’t resolved at the outset, but I have my fingers crossed that good result will come from this shortly.

The reopening of this Post Office will not only be welcomed on the Regent’s Park Estate, but also reduce the pressure on Camden High Street and allow residents to get a quicker and more efficient service.
