Obama Campaign – Some Highlights

I know it’s been a while since I was in Ohio campaigning for the US President but since Obamamania is still very much prevalent, I think I might blog about some of the highlights of the trip. Come back because there’s more in store!

We were initially assigned into groups and although our group did dwindle by the end of the trip (I promise it wasn’t me..), this was the original Team Four. And what a team!

It was with this great group of people that I travelled to the main Obama base where we were briefed on the plan of action for the week. Our Americans hosts were enthusiastic, inspiring and extremely accommodating to us Brits. Just look at the sign that appeared 5 minutes after we stormed in. Now that’s what I call efficiency. (No wonder Barack won Ohio!)

As I looked around the room, I saw other interesting wall signs/posters/drawings including the one below –

Obama really did engage all sections of society didn’t he? And let’s not forget the ‘Kid’s Corner’ where children lent their support for the trendy President (come on, his favourite character from The Wire is Omar Little. In my geeky eyes, that makes him cool automatically!)

Anyway, my favourite piece of art was this one because the artist kept her colouring neat and did not go outside the lines once! Even Barack’s ears are meticulously done. Judge for yourself –

Amazing isn’t it?!
