No 10

Gordon Brown

Today was very exciting as I was invited to Downing Street for a party with other London Young Labour members. The Prime Minister thanked us for all our work during the Mayoral elections.

I’ve met Mr Brown a few times before but he seemed more relaxed than I’ve seen him on previous occasions and his speech was actually quite entertaining! He said that he had held many positions in the Labour Party during his political career, that is, Branch Secretary, Chair etc but had never been made treasurer!

On a more serious note, he acknowledged that the recent election results had been disappointing but that we needed to keep our spirits up for upcoming elections especially the one in Crewe on Thursday.

My colleagues and I decided to take the opportunity to pose for a few photos outside No 10 and you can see them here.
