NHS in London debate Tulip Siddiq MP

The final debate before Easter was on the NHS in London. Secured by my colleague Rupa Huq MP, the debate was attended by Labour MPs from across the capital. As expected, the exchanges covered a wide range of topics regarding the health service– not least the ongoing Junior Doctors’ dispute. I provided two contributions to the debate, which can be read here.

The first was over closures to maternity wards in London hospitals, and the disruption this can cause to a woman’s pregnancy and labour. The second was on the Junior Doctors’ dispute. I am dismayed at the language Ministers have used to describe the BMA and its members. Our medical professionals deserve a better deal from the Department of Health and I will continue to support their rights.
