Prisons Debate

I was delighted to contribute to this week’s feature in the New Statesman, reflecting on my first year in Parliament as one of the women elected for Labour in 2015.

In the piece, I reflect on the highs and lows of working in Parliament, particularly looking at the campaigns I have fought and the reforms I believe necessary to bring the House of Commons voting procedures into the 21st century.

I also address the importance of bringing issues local to Hampstead and Kilburn to the heart of my work in Westminster. The full piece can be read by clicking here.
