My Evidence to the HS2 Select Committee

HS2 Select Committee

Last week I spoke at the HS2 Select Committee and challenged HS2 Ltd. on various concerns relating to their proposals to build a vent shaft next to a school at Canterbury Works in South Kilburn.

The area, previously said to be “too densely populated” to be considered as a site for the development, will face major disruption. I believe the quality of life of our children and residents must come first and I have serious concerns regarding air, noise pollution and increased traffic that could result in South Kilburn.

My pressure at the committee forced HS2 to commit to an environmental assessment inside the School’s playground. You can read my full remarks here (pdf). The video of the speech can be seen here:
