Match4Lara – Could you be a donor?

Match for Lara

Lara is a 24-year-old Chinese-Thai-Italian who was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in December 2015, and will need a stem cell donor to save her life.

Her mixed heritage makes it extremely hard to find a stem cell donor as matching types are an inherited trait.

Only 3% of donors on the public stem cell registries are of mixed race. By joining a national bone marrow registry you can provide a potential gift of life to Lara and others like her in their time of greatest need. Lara’s full story can be found at this link:

Tulip Siddiq MP and Anthony Nolan, with the support of the O2 Centre on Finchley road are delighted to announce a spitting drive to get as many potential donors as possible signed up.

If you are aged 16-30 and in good health, we would love to see you there. There will be areas for potential donors to fill out forms, and provide their spit samples.

By turning up you could potentially save Lara’s life!

It will take place between 2pm and 6pm at the O2 centre, Finchley Road, on Saturday 23 January 2016
