Olympic Summer

Dear Editor

It’s great to see so many residents enjoying the festival of street photography, the Big Dane event and the Children’s Literature Festival as part of Camden’s Olympic summer offer.

In addition to the Olympic Torch appearing in the borough today, we also have the ‘Breathing Trees’ exhibition in Russell Square which is truly spectacular. It’s on until Friday 27th August and the trees breathe and cough as the night closes in. So please do go and take a look.

For the more athletic Camdeners, a visit to Bouncy Stonehenge is a must. It comes to Hampstead Heath by the Cricket grounds on 1st august. I would also recommend going to the Shakespeare exhibition at the British Museum which is fascinating.

And, as the sun finally starts smiling, there’s an opportunity to swim in the temporary pool at Maria Fidelis until 23 August. All learn to swim classes and fun swimming sessions are free so don’t miss the opportunity to take part this summer. (Visit for session timetable)

And finally, the Olympic season culminates at Heather Heath with a community Sports Day on 9th September. There’s something for everyone so I hope to see you all there!
