King’s Cross Construction Training Centre

I’m been speaking to Cllr Theo Blackwell about the disgraceful situation regarding King’s Cross Construction Training Centre. This is a project which aims to help unemployed people from deprived areas in Camden and Islington find work. It was set up with LDA money under Ken Livingstone when he was mayor but its application for further grants has been turned down.

Boris Johnson has cut the centre’s funding and left a £4 million financial hole in King’s Cross as a result. You can read more about the London Mayor’s total disregard for helping vulnerable people here.

I can’t believe that Camden’s residents will now have to bear the costs so that this important scheme is protected. I’m especially angry as I lived in King’s Cross for many years and I know how much that area needs extra funding.
