Grenfell Tower

I have been absolutely devastated by the fatal fire at Grenfell Tower. This has been an unspeakable tragedy and the footage has left me feeling empty.

Both medical professionals and the London Fire Brigade have been heroic in the face of another tragedy and we are indebted to their bravery. My thoughts and condolences are with the victims and their families at this difficult time.

I am keen to use my position to offer help through whatever means possible.

I have been in touch with staff at the Royal Free Hospital. They have relayed the scale of their efforts to save the lives of those affected, and I have been clear to them that I am willing to amplify calls for any further resource, should they require it.

I am in constant contact with the Leaders of Brent and Camden Councils, to discuss how they will reassure residents in tower blocks.

Communication will be key, and as such, my team and I have delivered letters to hundreds of homes with ways to contact my office.

In Parliament, the Labour Party has called for everything possible to be done to ensure that the Grenfell residents receive sufficient help and support.

In the meantime, if residents have any specific concerns or questions to raise with me, please do not hesitate to email or call 0208 127 5525.
