Foreign Office questions – #FreeNazanin

Before Christmas, the Foreign Secretary told both Richard Ratcliffe and myself that he would “leave no stone unturned” in his efforts to secure the release of Nazanin Zaghari Ratcliffe. Unfortunately, the welcome change of step from the Government proved unable to ensure her freedom.

With Nazanin now eligible for parole under Iranian law, it is vital that the Foreign Office continues to apply pressure on their Iranian counterparts to do the right thing by my constituent. At the recent FCO Questions in Parliament, I asked the Foreign Secretary for an update on the steps he has taken since our meeting in December.

The full question, and the Foreign Secretary’s response can be viewed here and below.
