Criminal Courts Charge

Last month I wrote for the New Statesman on the need to hold the Government to account following their decision to scrap their damaging criminal courts charge. The charge compromised defendants’ right to a fair trial and added to the uncollected fines blighting our criminal justice system. I have repeatedly raised this matter at Justice Questions, and held a Westminster Hall debate back in November.
